Chris Berman has a Decent Presidential Interview
While I was watching the Monday night game between the Redskins and the Steelers, ESPN announced that Chris Berman was going to have an interview with each presidential candidate at halftime.
I don’t like mixing politics with sports but it was election-eve so I’ll let it slide.
I didn’t hold out much hope for an actual unbiased, non-partisan interview but I decided to watch the potential butt kissing, crap-fest anyway.
Chris asked three sports related questions (+1 point for that). There is nothing worse than a sports announcer getting out of his reason for existence.
He acted basically the same to each candidate and seemed interested and grateful to each equally. It was a fluff piece but what do you expect.
When it was done I was actually surprised that the segments were fair.
In the current “continuously free commercial” news environment, this was an example of how to do it right.
