Plaxico Burress went into a nightclub with a loaded gun in his pants, it fell down his leg and when he went to get it, he shot himself in the leg.
That’s embarrassing. I mean world class embarrassing.
Could he have accidentally killed someone? Yes. But he didn't.
Plaxico totally messed up. I don't think he should go to prison. If I was the judge, I would sentence him to 10 years probation and force him to give one speech a month for 10 years to high schools or other groups telling his goofy story and saying why guns shouldn't be brought into nightclubs or anywhere else (unless you have a permit).
He's in a unique position because everyone knows him and the judge should take advantage of that. Instead of making an example of him like Mayor Bloomberg wants by sending him to jail, they should make an example of him and use him to help others.
Like they should have done with Michael Vick.
