NHL All-Star Game = AWESOME!
The the way the NHL chose its All-Star game teams is the most exciting way I've ever seen and baseball and basketball have got to do this too. Kind of don't think it'll work for football. The captains Eric Staal and Nicklas Lidstrom were chosen by the player (great). There is no East and West or American and National. Players from the same team, Claude Giroux and Danny Briere, are on different teams (cool). The players were chosen by a fantasy style draft and the last guy chosen, Phil Kessel, gets to donate $20,000 and gets a car (perfect).
This format was very fun, Heidi Androl is gorgeous, funny and extremely knowledgeable about hockey and not just the LA Kings. The only thing missing was beer, TV's and nachos. Her interviews introduced all the players to the fans, we can see what their personalities are like and what they look like out of uniform.
Too bad Sidney Crosby and Gino Malkin weren't there.
The only negative: James Duthie. They need a bigger personality that is smoother with the questions and funnier. But, at least he is Canadian.
Brendan Shanahan does it again.
